Licensed and Insured
We maintain the insurance protection expected of a professional residential roofing and gutter contractor. Our coverage includes general liability insurance and workers’ compensation insurance.
- General liability insurance
- Workers’ compensation insurance
- Current Massachusetts construction supervisor licensing
- Current Massachusetts home-improvement contractor registration
Current certificates of insurance are available for review upon request before work begins. If your property manager, condominium association, lender, or homeowner’s insurer needs specific certificate wording, please tell us before scheduling so we can address the request in advance.
Homeowner tip: Never assume a contractor is insured based only on a truck decal, website statement, or verbal representation. Ask for current documentation and confirm that the legal business name matches the name shown on the proposal and insurance certificate.
BBB Accreditation & Reviews
Natarelli & Son Roofing and Gutters is a BBB Accredited Business with an A+ rating . We believe homeowners should have access to independent sources where they can review business information and make an informed decision.
Reviews can be useful when they go beyond a star rating. When comparing contractors, look for comments that address the full experience:
- Communication before and during the project
- Protection of landscaping, siding, driveways, and surrounding property
- Whether the completed work matched the written scope
- Clean-up and nail/debris collection after the project
- How questions, change orders, or unexpected conditions were handled
- Professionalism of the crew and on-site supervision
- Post-project communication and warranty service
A trustworthy contractor should be comfortable with you reviewing independent feedback and asking detailed questions before you hire them.
Written Estimates & Clear Scope
Before a project begins, we provide a written estimate designed to make the work understandable. The exact scope varies by home and project, but proposals may identify:
- Work areas and materials to be installed
- Roofing, gutter, guard, flashing, or trim scope
- Tear-off, disposal, and jobsite clean-up
- Known fascia, soffit, roof-deck, or trim conditions
- Gutter profile, material, size, and downspout plan
- Items included in the price and relevant exclusions
- Warranty information and applicable manufacturer coverage
- Scheduling expectations and payment terms
For gutter projects, we aim to specify the system rather than simply quote a number of linear feet. A proper recommendation considers roof runoff, valleys, gutter size, downspout placement, drainage direction, fascia condition, mature trees, snow and ice exposure, and whether leaf protection is appropriate for the home.
Change Orders & Concealed Conditions
Older homes can contain conditions that are not visible during an initial inspection. Examples may include rotted fascia boards, deteriorated trim, hidden flashing problems, water-damaged roof decking, or conditions behind existing exterior materials.
If we discover work outside the original written scope, our process is to:
- Explain the condition and why it matters
- Document the condition with photos whenever practical
- Discuss repair options and pricing before proceeding
- Document approved changes in writing whenever possible, except where immediate action is needed to protect the home from active damage or an unsafe condition
We do not believe homeowners should be surprised by vague or unexplained add-on charges.
Zero-Money-Down Policy
For qualifying residential projects, Natarelli & Son Roofing and Gutters operates under a Zero Money Down policy. You pay no money upfront, and payment is due when the agreed work is complete and you have had the opportunity to inspect the finished project.
If special-order materials, commercial work, insurance-related requirements, or other unusual circumstances require different payment terms, those terms will be explained clearly in writing before work is scheduled.
Please note: Payment terms are confirmed in your written proposal. Ask us about the exact payment arrangement for your roofing, gutter, repair, or specialty-material project before signing.
Warranties & Homeowner Protection
A warranty is only valuable when homeowners understand what it covers, who provides it, and what its limits are. Depending on the material and project scope, your completed project may include manufacturer material coverage and a separate Natarelli & Son workmanship warranty.
| Protection | Provided By | What It Covers | Important Details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Manufacturer Material Warranty | The applicable material manufacturer | Qualifying defects in roofing, gutter, leaf-protection, or related installed materials, subject to the manufacturer’s written terms. | Coverage length, transferability, registration requirements, and exclusions vary by product and installation system. Your written proposal identifies the applicable product and warranty. |
| Natarelli & Son Workmanship Warranty | Natarelli & Son Roofing and Gutters | Installation-related workmanship, subject to the written warranty provided with the completed project. | Workmanship warranty term: Lifetime warranty on craftsmanship. Review the written project warranty for coverage, exclusions, maintenance requirements, and service-request procedures. |
| Gutter Guard Warranty | The applicable gutter-guard manufacturer | Manufacturer-backed coverage for qualifying gutter-guard products, subject to product-specific terms. | Warranty duration and coverage vary by the guard product selected. Your proposal identifies the selected product and applicable warranty. |
| Zero-Money-Down Policy | Natarelli & Son Roofing and Gutters | For qualifying residential projects, no money is due upfront; payment is due after the agreed work is complete and the homeowner has had the opportunity to inspect the finished project. | Any different terms for special-order materials, commercial work, insurance-related requirements, or other unusual circumstances will be stated clearly in writing before scheduling. |
| Written Scope and Change-Order Process | Natarelli & Son Roofing and Gutters | A written proposal explains the known project scope, included materials, and relevant exclusions before work begins. | If concealed damage or work outside the original scope is discovered, we explain the condition, document it when practical, discuss options and pricing, and obtain written approval before proceeding whenever possible. |
How We Explain Your Warranty
Before you approve a project, we will identify:
- The manufacturer and product being installed
- The manufacturer warranty that applies to that product
- The Natarelli & Son workmanship warranty that applies to the project
- Important exclusions, maintenance expectations, and service procedures
- Whether manufacturer registration is required for enhanced coverage
- Who to contact if you need warranty or service assistance
We do not want homeowners to rely on broad phrases such as “lifetime warranty” without knowing whose warranty it is, what it covers, and what conditions apply.
Material & Installation Standards
Every home is different. Across MetroWest and Eastern Massachusetts, older homes, steep rooflines, roof valleys, mature trees, snow, ice, and drainage constraints can all affect the correct roofing or gutter recommendation.
When evaluating a project, we consider applicable conditions such as:
- Roof age, slope, valleys, penetrations, flashing, and ventilation
- Existing water damage or roof-edge concerns
- Fascia, soffit, trim, and drainage conditions
- Gutter capacity and the amount of roof runoff
- Whether 5-inch or 6-inch seamless gutters are appropriate
- Downspout size, placement, and discharge direction
- Leaf debris, snow, ice, and ice-dam exposure
- Compatibility of a gutter guard with the roof and tree conditions
We offer seamless aluminum gutter systems, copper gutters, gutter repair, and leaf-protection options. Recommendations should be based on the home’s actual drainage needs, not simply on the most expensive available option.
Owner Involvement & Communication
Natarelli & Son Roofing and Gutters is owner-operated. We believe local accountability matters, particularly when a project affects the roofline, drainage, exterior trim, and long-term protection of your home.
Customers can expect communication regarding:
- Scope and estimate questions
- Scheduling and weather-related changes
- Material selections and project preparation
- Property access and jobsite protection
- Discovered conditions and written change orders
- Completion and final walkthrough
- Warranty and future service requests
What to Verify Before Hiring Any Contractor
Whether you choose Natarelli & Son or another contractor, we recommend confirming the following before you sign:
- Verify Massachusetts license and HIC registration details
- Ask for current liability and workers’ compensation insurance certificates
- Read the written scope, not only the total price
- Confirm material brand, product line, and installation details
- Ask how hidden rot, damaged decking, fascia, or trim will be handled
- Understand the deposit and payment schedule
- Request the exact workmanship warranty in writing
- Review manufacturer warranty requirements and exclusions
- Check independent reviews and look for project-specific feedback
- Confirm who is responsible for on-site supervision and post-project service
A lower price is not always a lower cost. A quote without a defined scope, clear materials, verifiable credentials, and written homeowner protections can become more expensive after work begins.
